This training is primarily the entry point into the Leading with Outcomes Authorised Trainer and Facilitator programmes, but also a powerful introduction to the concepts and practice of leadership and strategy in the transforming organisation.

  • Leading with Outcomes: Foundation
  • The Leading with Outcomes Discovery workshop, from which the first half of the Inside-out Strategy training module is derived

  • Strategy conversations with the IdOO (“I do”) pattern – Ideal, Obstacles, Outcomes
  • Understanding strategy, and the important of context
  • Inside-out and Outside-in strategy – differences and similarities, facilitating them separately or in combination
  • Feedback loops in containers for learning
  • Turning an outcome-oriented strategy into action with the Meaning, Measure, Method pattern
  • Exposure to Adaptive Organisation, integrating models from the worlds of systems, complexity science, and organisational and developmental psychology
  • Familiarization with some of our most popular tools, including our context-capturing kickoff exercise Celebration-5W and our Clean Language-inspired coaching game 15-minute FOTO

Mike Burrows

Founder, Agendashift

This training will be led by Agendashift founder Mike Burrows Mike is recognised for his pioneering work in Lean, Agile, and Kanban, his advocacy for participatory and outcome-oriented approaches to change, transformation, and strategy, and his relational approach to organisation.

Author of the Lean-Agile classic Kanban from the Inside (2014), Mike has written several influential books for Agile and business agility audiences – most recently, Wholehearted: Engaging with Complexity in the Deliberately Adaptive Organisation (2025).

Before launching his consulting career, he held senior roles including Global Development Manager and Executive Director at a top-tier investment bank, CTO for an energy risk management startup, and interim delivery manager for UK government digital 'exemplar' projects.

Today, Mike focuses on wholehearted, deliberately adaptive organisations and the transformational leadership that enables them.
