Overview

The role of a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is to guide teams utilize Scrum in an effective manner and increase the outcome of project's success. A CSM also acts as a Servant Leader to help Scrum teams to work together, ensure they learn the Scrum framework, and also safeguards them from internal and external distractions. In this course, the participant will understand the Scrum values, practices and applications that help to gain a level of knowledge and experience that is beyond a level of a Project Manager's role.

Attending this course will help participants understand the benefits of implementing Scrum in their organization, and deliver high value to businesses in the shortest time. By the end of the certification program, attendees will be able to grasp the responsibilities of Scrum Master, gain in-depth knowledge of Scrum framework, team roles, activities, and artifacts. After attending this course, participant would be able to perform the roles of Scrum Master effectively and become a Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

  • Origin and key elements of Scrum
  • Scrum values, Artifacts and principles
  • Responsibilities of a ScrumMaster and a Product Owner in Scrum Team
  • The Scrum ceremonies- Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Product Backlog

  • Understand the fundamentals of Agile
  • Differences between traditional approaches and Agile development approaches
  • Learn to analyze and implement Agile practices
  • Guide Scrum team to avoid internal and external impediments
  • Understand the Scrum framework including the roles, artifacts, meetings and values in detail
  • Understand the advantages and responsibilities to assist the Product Owner in refining the product backlogs items and actionable items
  • Understand and apply Planning Poker: an Agile estimating and planning technique
  • Learn the concept of Timebox, and state that the participants tasks in a Scrum event are maximum timeboxed
  • Learn the definition of 'Done' and its purpose for the Scrum Team.
